Coal Creek Farmers' Market

The Coal Creek Farmers' Market is accredited by the VFMA and operates on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 8-12.30pm

Coal Creek Community Park and Museum, Silkstone Road Korumburra VIC 3950

What's it all about?

The first Coal Creek Farmers’ Market took place on Saturday 9th October 2010.

The idea for the market came about through the Bena Community Group in early 2009, and the purpose is to celebrate local Victorian produce, farmers and regional businesses. Korumburra businesses are showing great enthusiasm for the establishment of the market. They too should benefit from a lively Saturday morning shopping crowd and discover all sorts of ongoing connections with stallholders so residents can find local produce in shops, not just on market day.

Spring produce includes spuds and asparagus from Warragul, goats cheese from Korumburra, sourdough bread from Yarragon, roses from Bena, organic asparagus from Dalmore, handmade preserves from Koonwarra, mixed vegies from Lang Lang & Allambee South, wine from Leongatha South and Kardella, free range eggs from Grantville, olives & olive oil from Fish Creek, fresh pasta & vegies from Thorpdale South. And that’s just the beginning because as the season unfolds we can look forward to berries, stone fruit, apples, free range meat, fresh fish of the day and even a dairy stall so we can buy local milk!

But wait there’s more… the fabulous local cooks amongst our CWA’s, school communities, service clubs and community groups will be fundraising for their projects running the monthly cake stall and cooking up a hearty brekkie.

The Coal Creek Farmers’ Marketis working toward Victorian Farmers’ Market Association accreditation - a guarantee that stallholders grow or make the goods they sell and that the quality of produce is of the utmost importance. Applications are always welcome from prospective stallholders who meet the criteria.

The Farmers’ Market will be held in the main carpark and picnic area with ample parking just metres away. Please tell your friends, family and neighbours and support our local community.
